Pool! is a free Mac 8-ball game for the Mac. It’s not the real thing, of course, but it’s decent and priced right.
Click to setup where you want the cue ball to strike, then drag the pointer back and let it go.
Pool! has one or two player modes. Play against a friend, or play against your Mac. There’s an optional hint for precise aiming.
It’s fun, somewhat realistic (as far as your Mac screen can be realistic), and pretty much standard 8-ball rules.
On smaller Mac screens it’s also a bit difficult to tell striped balls from solid balls, though. And, Pool! is a good ego booster because when you play the Mac it’s difficult to lose.
Also, it’s all simple straight shots. No spinning, no English, no fancy bounce shots– just straight shooting.
