I'd love to have MacDraw back. Simple yet perfect for small, less intricate drawings. Why fire up a CAD program when you want to make a simple map, sign or diagram?

MacPaint was cool in the day, but worthless for anything productive. My first Mac vector app was MacDraw, circa 1985. After that I went to Canvas and Freehand and finally settled on Adobe Illustrator.

I hate Adobe.

You got me. I thought Apple was releasing a new MacPaint. I remember MacPaint on my original Mac back in the late 1980s. Talk about anemic. My preference was Canvas and vector drawing vs. bit map.

Ouch! Social Security?!

I was in high school when my uncle bought me my first Mac in 1984. I'm only 43 now.

But, yeah, remembering MacPaint does make me feel old still. :D

Forget the others. Go with Brightness. Change tint. Get blacker blacks. Nicely done. Cheap.

I've used the Brightness Control app on my 24" iMac from day one. Unfortunately, Apple's own brightness adjustment slider in display preferences when moved all the way to the left fails to dim the brightness enough for my eyes at times. Even with my iMacs antiglare screen the light intensity is too great and needs further adjustment. This free app gets it done, as you say.

Apple's current 27" iMacs brightness adjustment slider gives a greater dimming effect than my 24".
