Audio is my business. It’s to be expected that my Mac is loaded with audio recording apps, audio file converter apps, and other audio tools.
Why all the need for utilities that convert audio files?
Because the world doesn’t rely on a single standard audio file. There’s MP3, AAC, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AIFF, WMA, and many others.
Some Mac apps convert audio files from one format to another. Invariably, the audio format you need at the moment is one that a particular app doesn’t convert.
Enter Audio Converter, the free Mac app that converts audio sound files from one format to another.
The interface is simple. Click the + plus button to add an audio file to be converted. Then select the file format to convert to.
Settings are self explanatory and nominal in number.
Find a file, add it to the list, select a location on your Mac to save the converted audio file, then convert to the format you want.
Not only is audio converter free, but it runs on both Mac and Windows.
