If you’ve ever used Windows then you know the benefits of the Control-Alt-Delete keys, also known as the Bill Gates Three-Finger Salute.
Those are the keys which could be used to restart your PC and bring up the task manager when things went wonky. Hey, it’s Windows. Users are familiar with wonky.
Ctrl Alt Delete for the Mac is a free app that also helps you out when the Mac or an app goes wonky. It sits in the Mac’s Menubar waiting for you to summon it with a click.
The app displays a list of all your Mac apps and gives you a few options. You can Quit or Force Quit an app, Log Off, Sleep, Restart, Or Shutdown.
How does that differ from what your Mac’s Apple menu already does? Not much, but there are a few other options.
You can set Ctrl Alt Delete to restart your Mac after so many seconds or minutes, Sleep the Mac, Restart the Mac, or Shutdown the Mac.
Power users might like the customizable hotkeys to bring up Ctrl Alt Delete, but there’s not much else going for a Mac version of Control Alt Delete.
