My collection of photo effects, filters, and enhancement apps is growing. The problem might be that I love taking photos, and love even more improving them with a plethora of inexpensive but useful Mac apps. It might also be that I’m a sucker for a well designed app icon.
That’s the case with Photo Glamour. Just as you can’t judge a book by the cover, I probably shouldn’t judge an app by the icon. Yet, the icon is the first image I see when foraging the App Store for apps.
Alright, so you’re look around for new photo utilities, and you see that icon? Enticed? Intrigued? Yes, that’s judging a book by the cover.
Photo Glamour is designed to give photos that lovely overly saturated glamour magazine look. And it does. Sometimes.
The list of effects is lengthy and includes the expected Glow, Dreamy, Movie, and Black & White. There’s a few lens flares and a mixer. It’s not bad, but it needs more, even though the price tag is modest.
Photo Glamour has enough presets and mixed settings can be saved. It saves files in JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and most popular RAW file formats. And it uploads finished photos to Facebook, which makes it a decent photo enhancement app for average folks, but it doesn’t do anything outstanding to justify the nominal price.
