Here’s an idea whose time has come. Floating, resizable iPhoto slideshows anywhere on your Mac’s screen without using iPhoto. Picture Window is the app that does the deed by grabbing photos from iPhoto albums and placing them in floating windows on your Mac’s screen.
Here’s how it works.
While you’re working on your Mac, Picture Windows displays the photo slideshow in a window that floats on top of the screen. Either use albums from iPhoto to create a slideshow, or create a slideshow from a folder of photos.
It’s smart enough to run multiple slideshows at the same time, or on multiple displays. It even does fullscreen mode on Mac OS X Lion or Mountain Lion. The photos in the slideshow are borderless and resized easily with a click and drag. The only notable problem is that it does not automatically resize photos that are of a different width and height from the slideshow window.
While Picture Windows works well enough, it could use a few more features (including auto resize as photo sizes change, borders or frames), and the developer’s website is devoid of information about how it works or how to get support.
