Have you ever wanted to take a screenshot on your Mac but couldn’t figure out how to get rid of all the Desktop clutter or the wallpaper background?
All you need to do is try to take one screenshot and you see the problem right away. The Desktop is filled with icons of files and folders and sometimes apps. Worse, the Mac’s screen is cluttered with open apps and app windows.
Cleaning up the clutter is a multi-step process that can be eliminated entirely with a single free app.
Backdrop fills your Mac’s screen with a blank window of any color, opacity, or background image.
There’s not much to using Backdrop, either. Setup Preferences to display an image or color. The slider changes opacity of the color. Or, add a background image.
Backdrop also works on Macs with multiple displays. And, as an added benefit, Backdrop includes an extra option to search for bad pixels on your display.
Nicely done, useful, and free. What’s not to like?
