Enhancing photos to commercial levels requires, a) a degree in Photoshop, or, b) a growing list of Mac photos apps, one-trick pony tools which do something Photoshop can do, but much easier, and less expensive.
Enter Picture Shapes.
This clever little tool creates photos from shapes and it’s drop dead, drag and drop simple to use. Select from the more than 150 shapes, size accordingly, rotate as needed, add text if you so desire, and click.
That’s about as easy as it gets. Complex image, photo embedding, point and click. Even the outlines of the shapes are customizable, and you can add shadows to the shapes, or glows, or both.
Picture Shapes handles all the basic Mac photo and image file formats, including JPG, PNG, TIFF and RAW. It’s fun, easy, different, and affordable.
The only problem I’ve run into with similar apps is that the collection of $1.99 to $4.99 adds up over time.
