My, how the world has changed. Apple and IBM have hooked up to bring mobile apps to the enterprise, and IBM now lets their employees choose Macs. Christina Warren:
IBM isn’t just embracing the iPhone and iPad for enterprise apps, the company will also be allowing employees to choose a Mac as a work-issued computer for the first time ever… IBM said that there are already 15,000 Macs deployed through the companies Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. The new program will be open to all employees. Employees will be able to choose from a MacBook Pro, a MacBook Air or a PC when getting a new or refreshed workstation. IBM says it plans to deploy 50,000 Macs by the end of the year.
What happened to Dell? Or, Lenovo? Oh, that’s right. Macs cost less to own.
