Looks like Hulu is doing to TV what Apple’s iTunes did for music. Stacy Liberatore:
Hulu announced new affiliate agreements with 21st Century Fox and The Walt Disney Company.
The deals encompass more than 35 networks that will be added to the platform early 2017 when Hulu launches its live TV service to compete with cable companies. Users will have access to Fox’s premier entertainment, news, sports and non-fiction services, as well as Disney’s portfolio of networks – and access could cost as little as $40 a month.
AT&T’s DirecTV Now promises 100 channels for $35 a month. Apple missed the boat on TV. That ship has sailed.
