Ewan Spence, official organ grinder mascot of the Forbes’ contributor network in 2016:
In the all important US market, Samsung has reclaimed the top spot that it lost to Apple eleven months ago. The continued assault on the iPhone by the new Galaxy S7 family has notched up another small victory.
Six months after that? Roger Fingas:
Apple’s record iPhone sales during the December quarter allowed it edge ahead of Samsung and once again become the world’s top smartphone vendor, though not for whole of 2016.
Some of these numbers and headlines are just silly. Samsung often sells more smartphones than Apple, but Apple sells only a few models– all premium– while the Korean maker sells all kinds inexpensive crap to add to the total. That explains why Apple has more than 95-percent of the entire industry’s profits.
