Not long ago I moved my Photos collect into iCloud Photo Library. Apple just upped the upper tier of iCloud storage to 2TB for $9.99 a month, which makes it tempting to add more to iCloud. Tera Thomas O’Brien did:
First up, how does it compare to cloud storage competitors? As it turns out, pretty good. Dropbox and Google charge $9.99 per month but only for 1TB of storage. Microsoft’s OneDrive tops out at 1TB for a mere $6.99 per month, but that also includes a personal copy of Microsoft Office.
So, Apple is price competitive.
Secondly, is Apple’s cloud service secure and safe enough to store everything online? Granted, iCloud remains a backup and the easy way to access files from any Apple device, but can it be trusted? That’s the question. Do you trust iCloud enough to put everything on your Mac into the cloud?
Yep. That’s the question.
