Jeffrey Mincey on a problem that many of us experience. Rising prices on apps, application subscriptions, and features for the sake of features and price tag.
I’m a long-time user of 1Password, the Mac’s premier username, password, and secure data management application for Mac, iPhone, or iPad. If there’s a better, more feature-laden app I don’t know what it is, where it is, or what it costs. 1Password is that good, that popular, but has also strayed into the monthly/annual subscription path.
And what Jeffrey did for a friend who balked at the price tag.
I turned him onto Enpass, a Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, BlackBerry, and Linux app that manages usernames and passwords, and guess what? It looks and feels much like 1Password and it’s free for Mac users. Free. I think of it as ‘1Password Lite.’
I use Enpass, too. It’s much like 1Password, free on the Mac, nominal price tag for mobile app versions, syncs well, works well.
