Jeffrey Mincey reviewed a few of the best Mac backup utilities but forgot a good one.
What I failed to mention was another backup app that has been running on my Macs for a few years. Arq. It just works. In fact, it works so well I forgot to include it on my list. You want Arq in a way you want iCloud. To get your Mac’s files out of your house or office. Arq automatically backs up files to Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Amazon, and others– including a remote SFTP server or a network attached server (NAS).
How easy is it to use Arq on, say, an Amazon S3 account (easy to create if you have an Amazon account)?
Select a folder of files you want to backup. Select where you want to save the files. Done.
I have used Arq for years and Jeffrey’s correct. It just works, always in the background, and it’s one of the best backup utilities to get files off your Mac and stored online.
