Technology websites have figured out that anything negative about Apple results in many more hits and links than writing about Windows. Here’s another. Damon Beres:
The iPhone is hard to recycle, difficult to repair, and rendered needlessly obsolete by software updates — but Apple wants us to believe it’s “zero waste.”
First, let’s go with the obvious. Nothing is “zero waste.” But iPhone may be the easiest smartphone to recycle because Apple does it for free and does it well. Second, repairability? No, you can’t fix an iPhone’s broken motherboard yourself, but the geniuses at Apple Store can and that makes it almost as easy as if they came to your home. “Needlessly obsolete?” Ridiculous. iPhones last longer and receive more recent software updates than any smartphone.
