As much as I hate to admit it, I remember President Eisenhower and his speech on the military-industrial complex and the dangers it posed to the U.S. Not much has changed except we live in the information age, so guess what looms over humanity on a worldwide basis?
The data-industrial complex. Apple CEO Tim Cook:
Our own information is being weaponized against us with military efficiency… We shouldn’t sugar-coat the consequences. This is surveillance. And these stockpiles of personal data only serve to enrich the companies that collect them.
Plausible? Yes. What is Apple doing to protect customers from such surveillance?
